Job summary

Alpaca is seeking an Analytics Engineer to own the data transformation layer in a 100% remote team. You will build robust data models using dbt and SQL on our GCP-based data infrastructure, collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and business users to deliver analytics-ready datasets.

You will enable stakeholders across finance, operations, and marketing with reliable data products, dashboards, and reverse-ETL workflows, while upholding data quality and scalable architecture.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of analytics engineering or data engineering with a focus on ELT transformation.
• Proven track record owning data products end-to-end and delivering robust data models.
• Able to work with stakeholders to define requirements in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience optimizing data warehouses and ETL performance.

Responsibilities

• Own the Transformation Layer: design and maintain scalable data models using dbt and SQL.
• Set standards for data modelling, testing, monitoring, and data quality.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and business teams to deliver reliable data products.
• Integrate data models with BI tools and reverse-ETL processes for consistent reporting.
• Ensure quality with robust change management, code reviews, and data monitoring.
