Job summary

Appsierra Group is seeking an Analytical Chemist – AI Safety Evaluation Expert to evaluate advanced AI systems on complex chemical safety questions. The role is remote and contracted, with compensation per completed task and flexible scheduling.

The candidate will develop challenging prompts, assess AI responses against safety standards, and provide clear technical reasoning. Strong analytical chemistry background and experience with hazardous compounds are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with detection and identification of hazardous compounds.
• Method development and validation for trace analysis.
• Knowledge of QA/QC and proficiency testing in analytical labs.
• Experience in safety evaluation of chemical information is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop challenging, single-turn analytical chemistry prompts across benign, dual-use, and adversarial categories.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses against safety and quality standards.
• Determine whether the model responses are appropriately scoped and safe.
• Create reference answers describing technically accurate and appropriately scoped responses.
• Provide clear technical reasoning supporting evaluations.
• Assess understanding of analytical chemistry, safety, and potential misuse concerns.
