Job summary

Forvis Mazars, LLP is seeking an experienced AML Model Validation consultant for a remote, project-based engagement. The contract role is expected to last at least 3 months and will be conducted entirely remotely from the United States.

The successful candidate will perform independent validation of AML transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and other financial crime models, evaluate ML-based alerting, and prepare governance-facing validation reports with clear findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years AML and Sanctions Model Validation experience.
• Must reside in the continental U.S. and be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent model validation of AML transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and financial crimes risk models, including conceptual soundness, data quality, performance testing, and outcome analysis.
• Evaluate and challenge machine learning models used for alert generation, anomaly detection, customer risk scoring, sanctions screening, and false-positive reduction.
• Assess AML and sanctions transaction screening systems, including tuning methodologies, threshold calibration, screening effectiveness, alert quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare validation reports, document findings, identify model limitations, and provide recommendations to strengthen model governance, controls, and regulatory compliance.
