Job summary

Pinnacle Group (Pinnacle Technical Resources) seeks an experienced Security Engineering Consultant with deep Akamai WAF and BMP expertise to support a critical migration to AWS. The role requires optimizing policies, handling incidents, and aligning protections with hybrid cloud security postures.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years with Akamai WAF/BMP in enterprise environments, strong OWASP knowledge, and solid collaboration across security and cloud teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing Akamai WAF and BMP in large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on incident response and tuning Bot Manager policies.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and mitigations via WAF technologies.
• Experience with AWS and hybrid/multi-cloud security postures.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead optimization of Akamai WAF policies, protecting against OWASP Top 10.
• Collaborate with cloud, application, and security teams on configurations.
• Respond quickly to security incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and mitigate threats.
• Manage day-to-day Akamai WAF operations, including updates and tuning.
• Review logs and alerts, generating actionable insights and recommendations.
• Document WAF policies, incidents, and procedures for knowledge transfer.
• Advise on integrating Akamai protections within a hybrid AWS migration.
• Ensure adherence to security standards and regulatory requirements.
