Job summary

STS Engineering Solutions is seeking an Aircraft Power Plant Engineer for remote contract work in the United States. The role provides on-call engineering support for aircraft powerplant maintenance, with afternoon, midnight, and weekend coverage as described.

You will support line and heavy maintenance, coordinate with OEMs, and develop detailed instructions and procedures to ensure airworthiness in compliance with FAA requirements. Travel may be required for some assignments.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in powerplant engineering within commercial aviation.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Comfort with long computer-based work sessions.

Responsibilities

• Support aircraft line and heavy maintenance, and modify Airbus powerplants.
• Provide engineering assistance to Line Maintenance and MRO teams for operation, repairs and maintenance.
• Coordinate with OEMs and DERs to facilitate approved powerplant repairs.
• Develop detailed work instructions and engineering drawings for powerplant repairs.
• Create engineering orders for modifications and alterations.
• Provide AOG support for powerplant installations.
• Develop procedures to comply with SBs, ADs and FAA requirements.
• Identify corrective actions from engine parameter trends.
• Investigate and suggest troubleshooting actions to Maintenance and Quality Control.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
