Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) seeks an Environmental Engineer Specialist to perform and review advanced air dispersion modeling and emission calculations, supporting air quality permitting and compliance initiatives.

You will collaborate across departments to establish model-driven permit conditions, maintain air quality modeling guidelines, and process meteorological databases while serving as a technical advisor to staff, regulated entities, and the public.

Qualifications

• Advanced mathematical modeling and quantitative analysis
• Knowledge of air quality rules and regulations
• Proficient with data and meteorological databases

Responsibilities

• Review advanced air quality modeling for PSD, Title V and minor permits
• Review emission calculations for permit modeling
• Develop model-driven permitting conditions with permit writers
• Update air quality modeling guidelines for AZ permits
• Prepare pre-processed meteorological databases for AZ permits
• Support General Permit Program modeling and community health assessments
• Provide technical assistance to regulated entities, staff and the public
• Review federal modeling guidelines
