Job summary

Modern Family Law seeks an AI Workflow Engineer to design and implement AI-native legal workflows and operational automation systems. You will build the plumbing for AI-enabled service delivery, orchestration across platforms, and client-facing automation, collaborating with AI leadership, attorneys, and developers.

The role requires strong software engineering, production-grade Python, and experience with LangChain/LangGraph, API integrations, and event-driven architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent practical experience in software engineering, computer science, information systems, automation engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in workflow automation, systems integration, software engineering, AI implementation, or automation architecture.
• Proficiency in production-grade Python with testing, code reviews, version control, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience designing AI agent workflows using orchestration frameworks and vector retrieval, plus familiarity with LLM observability tools.
• Solid understanding of APIs, event-driven systems, and end-to-end systems integration.
• Experience with automation platforms and AI infrastructure frameworks.
• Excellent problem solving, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AI-enabled workflow orchestration across legal and operational processes.
• Develop integrations between AI platforms, CRMs, document automation, client portals, and internal tools.
• Create automation pipelines and event-driven workflows for intake, document generation, communication, routing, and escalation.
• Collaborate with Knowledge Engineers and Product Managers to translate workflows into scalable architectures.
• Implement API integrations across third-party and internal systems.
• Develop retrieval, prompt orchestration, and workflow execution for AI agents.
• Support scalable architectures for AI-powered client experiences and internal operations.
• Monitor reliability and performance; troubleshoot bottlenecks and issues.
• Contribute to security, governance, and compliance planning for AI workflows.
• Document architectures, logs, maps, and standards.
• Evaluate new automation technologies and tools.
