Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Software Engineers in Portland for a fully remote, hourly contract role. You will write, review, and improve AI-generated code and help train AI coding assistants to think like developers.

Expect hands-on engineering with a focus on reliability, security, and performance, while working on flexible schedules. You will evaluate AI outputs, provide structured feedback, and craft prompts to stress AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, SE, or related field.
• Proficient in one or more languages listed.
• Clear written communicator with strong debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Write, debug, and optimize code across languages/frameworks.
• Review and evaluate AI-generated code for correctness and efficiency.
• Identify bugs, security issues, and performance bottlenecks in AI outputs.
• Provide detailed feedback explaining why code works or not.
• Design coding prompts and edge-case scenarios to stress-test AI capabilities.
• Compare and rank multiple AI-generated solutions by engineering quality.
• Work independently and asynchronously with flexible hours.
