Job summary

DUIT is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer / Application Developer for a 3–4 week contract (1099s welcome). The role focuses on securing, optimizing, and evolving an AI-enabled platform in a federal DoD environment using TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.

You will troubleshoot defects, tune AI model performance, and work with QA, engineering, and testing teams to ensure reliable deployments while maintaining security and data handling best practices.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of production experience developing frontend and backend apps using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience troubleshooting production web applications.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve defects across frontend, backend, APIs, and AWS infrastructure.
• Perform root-cause analysis to identify and fix recurring issues.
• Develop, test, document, and deploy secure application fixes maintaining stability.
