Job summary

Outlier is seeking a QA Coder to help make AI smarter by reviewing AI-generated code, flagging issues, and scoring model responses. The role is a freelance contractor position with pay up to $34/hr and performance incentives; you can work flexibly from anywhere.

A Bachelor's in CS and live production coding experience are preferred. We welcome applicants from multiple countries and require authorization to work in your country of residence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a selective institution.
• Software engineering experience contributing to a live production codebase.
• Ability to articulate complex concepts fluently in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated code and flag errors, inconsistencies, or quality issues.
• Rate and rank model responses across accuracy, instruction following, and presentation.
• Write clear, well-structured prompts to challenge AI models and advance coding capabilities.
