Job summary

CACI International Inc is seeking an AI Pilot & Data Senior Technical Writer to document how AI is tested and used in federal oversight. You will translate the work of AI and data teams into clear, auditable documentation for government decision-makers.

The role is primarily remote, with on-site work at DHS OIG headquarters in Washington, DC as needed. You will produce pilot charters, design documents, validation reports, and data dictionaries to seed the enterprise data catalog.

Qualifications

• Associate degree plus 6 years’ tech writing or documentation in software, data, or IT.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DHS Public Trust fitness.
• Experience writing technical docs (requirements, design, test reports).
• Experience documenting data, data dictionaries, metadata, or catalog entries.
• Experience producing Section 508 conformant documents in regulated environments.
• Ability to explain complex technical content clearly for non-technical readers.

Responsibilities

• Write pilot charters, requirements, and solution design docs for AI pilot apps.
• Document test plans, validation methods, and testing outcomes in reports.
• Produce transition-to-sustainment and knowledge-transfer packages.
• Build data dictionaries and data-set documentation for pilots’ data.
• Document responsible AI information in a consistent format.
• Edit analyses and recommendations into plain language for Government leaders.
• Interview engineers and subject matter experts to verify accuracy.
• Apply document standards, templates, and version control across pilots.
• Ensure 508 accessibility and handle sensitive information per DHS rules.
