Job summary

dexter health is hiring an AI Engineer to ship AI-powered product features in a hands-on role. You will build, validate, and productionize AI workflows, with ownership of delivery and quality.

Teams collaborate with product and engineering to move fast while ensuring reliability and user value. You will work with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot and other tools, including self-hosted LLMs, to create end-to-end AI features for healthcare workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and backend skills.
• Experience building AI-powered features or LLM workflows.
• Ability to turn ideas into production software quickly.
• Experience designing, testing, validating, and improving AI outputs.
• Experience integrating AI workflows into production systems.
• Strong debugging across data, code, model outputs, and UX.
• Experience with evaluation/quality checks for AI outputs.
• Familiar with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered product features from idea to production.
• Improve AI workflows for quality, latency, and user value.
• Design and implement LLM-based workflows with validation and fallback logic.
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing product and backend systems.
• Work with multiple LLMs, including self-hosted options, as needed.
• Debug AI feature failures across inputs, outputs, and data.
