Job summary

SaidGig is seeking a senior engineer to apply deep hands-on judgment to AI research spanning embedded firmware, FPGA/RTL, flight software, and hardware test workflows from a remote location.

You will review and implement solutions on real hardware, diagnose race conditions, and own architectures from prototyping through deployment, collaborating with distributed teams.

This role pays $100–$120/hour, with flexible hourly engagement for experienced professionals in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software/firmware/embedded systems experience with hands-on hardware.
• Ownership spanning requirements, architecture, implementation, verification, and deployment on production hardware.
• Deep expertise in at least one area: embedded RTOS, FPGA/RTL, flight software, or hardware test automation.

Responsibilities

• Apply software, firmware, and hardware expertise to complex engineering tasks on physical systems.
• Review firmware, FPGA/RTL designs, flight software, test frameworks, and hardware interfaces.
• Analyze trade-offs for real-time performance, memory, and hardware/software integration.
• Assess correctness, robustness, and feasibility of embedded solutions.
• Identify race conditions, timing issues, and interface failures in systems.
• Develop reference implementations, tests, and evaluation criteria.
• Provide technical feedback from bring-up, debugging, and deployment experiences.
