Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Design Systems team. You will define and build next-gen design system infrastructure, AI-powered tooling, and agent-driven workflows to improve speed, quality, and consistency across products.

The role blends frontend engineering with AI-assisted workflows, focusing on scalable component architecture and governance. You will work closely with design and engineering leadership to shape future workflows and tooling at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in front-end development, with design system exposure.
• Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React proficiency.
• Experience building scalable front-end architecture for complex apps.
• Experience with AI-powered tooling and agent frameworks.
• Strong accessibility knowledge (WCAG/ARIA).
• Ability to collaborate across design, product and engineering teams.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and distribution of design system tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and evolve UI components and primitives powering the design system.
• Design and build AI-powered tooling and agent-driven workflows to speed up design-to-code processes.
• Collaborate with designers to translate design intent into high-quality reusable code.
• Contribute to architecture and strategy of AI-native UX development and automation.
• Prototype and productionize new concepts for the future of design systems.
• Ensure accessibility and inclusivity by embedding WCAG standards.
• Write clear, scalable documentation for human and AI consumers.
• Participate in code reviews and design critiques to raise quality.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve system reliability and usability.
• Drive evaluation of emerging AI technologies and practical tooling improvements.
