Job summary

Manifest OS is seeking a Design Engineer to drive the design system and frontend architecture for a next-generation AI-native legal tech platform. You will own secure client portals and enterprise-grade systems, from architecture to production, with high ownership and fast delivery across AI systems, retrieval, and agent orchestration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building production software with depth in at least one area
• Built or shaped a production design system with APIs, tokens, theming, and docs
• Proven track record delivering features with measurable business impact
• Comfort with relational database design and data modeling
• Hands-on with cloud platforms and deploying services
• Fluent with AI coding tools as part of daily workflow
• Ability to self-teach and ship in unfamiliar systems
• Familiarity with TypeScript, React, GCP, PostgreSQL

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end features across the legal tech platform (portals, case management, workflows).
• Design production-grade APIs, data models, and permission systems for a regulated domain.
• Develop and evolve the design system's components, tokens, and documentation.
• Architect frontend contracts with backend teams for robust data fetching and state management.
• Build AI-native interfaces, agent orchestration, and secure tooling for the team.
• Ensure accessibility, performance, and failure recovery as standard criteria.
