Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Project Coordinator for AI data projects. This remote, contract role requires 3+ years in project coordination, hands-on AI data experience, and strong data management skills (Excel/SQL). You will coordinate with program leads, onboard experts, and track deliverables using Sheets/Excel.

The ideal candidate will lead cross-team collaboration, flag roadblocks, and contribute to guidelines as the program expands. Prior people management is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be based in the USA.
• 3+ years in project coordination or project management.
• Hands-on experience with AI training-data or human-data projects.
• Strong data management experience (Excel, SQL) and working knowledge of coding.
• Prior people management experience or demonstrated ability to lead large groups effectively.

Responsibilities

• Act as a day-to-day point of contact for AI data projects, ensuring smooth workflows and operations.
• Collaborate with program leads and domain experts to transform leadership inputs into clear guidelines for expert teams.
• Support onboarding and growth of new experts as the program expands.
• Participate in weekly business reviews, organize notes and action items, and lead calls when necessary.
• Identify quality issues, analyze root causes, and communicate findings across teams.
• Contribute to the creation and refinement of project guidelines with research and product partners.
• Proactively flag potential roadblocks and assist in their resolution.
• Track project deliverables using Google Sheets and Excel.
• Stay adaptable as project needs evolve.
