Job summary

Speechify Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer - AI Data to join our distributed AI team. You will design and build data pipelines powering model training and next-generation AI products, handling petabyte-scale data with cost-efficient architectures.

You will collaborate with AI scientists to enhance training datasets, improve data quality, and support scalable model development in a fully remote environment. A strong backend background and hands-on data experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering, with strong backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Discover new data sources and build reliable pipelines for training datasets.
• Develop and optimize large-scale data-processing systems for quality and cost.
• Collaborate with AI Scientists to improve training datasets and models.
• Own engineering projects from discovery through implementation and improvement.
