Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer - AI Data to join our AI team and build data pipelines powering model training and next‑gen AI products. You will create and optimize data pipelines, tackle large‑scale processing challenges, and collaborate with AI scientists to improve training datasets.

The ideal candidate has a CS degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in software engineering, strong Python and Bash skills in Linux, and a track record of production systems and data workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in CS or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, including data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Discover new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines to ingest them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, optimizing for data quality, throughput and cost.
• Collaborate with AI Scientists to improve training datasets and support model development.
• Take ownership of engineering projects from discovery through implementation and continuous improvement.
