Job summary

Provenir is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to help build and enhance cloud-native capabilities within our SaaS platform. This role focuses on developing reliable Python services and APIs, with opportunities to work on generative AI and AI agents.

Ideal candidates have strong backend development experience in SaaS environments, with Python frameworks (FastAPI), Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. Remote work is possible; in-person NY-area meetings may be required occasionally.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Python development skills, including building production backend services and APIs.
• Experience with modern Python frameworks, preferably FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of software design, OOP, maintainable code, and automated testing with pytest or unittest.
• Experience developing and supporting cloud-based or multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Experience designing REST APIs, service integrations, and reusable backend components.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application development.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native deployment environments.
• Experience with AWS services such as EKS, S3, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, monitoring, logging, and production support.
• Understanding of scalability, resilience, security, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Python-based backend services and APIs.
• Building reusable components for a cloud-native SaaS product.
• Integrating internal services, external APIs, and third-party platforms.
• Developing containerized services that run in Kubernetes on AWS.
• Improving scalability, resilience, security, monitoring, and operational support.
• Collaborating with product managers, architects, and other engineers to deliver features.
• Contributing to software design, code reviews, automated testing, and engineering standards.
• Supporting services through their lifecycle from design to production.
• Applying genAI and large language models to product capabilities where appropriate.
• Helping develop AI-enabled workflows, intelligent agents, and tool integrations.
