Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Software Engineer – AI Applications & ServiceNow to design, build, deploy, and operate secure, production-grade AI-enabled applications within U.S. Government cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience developing AI-enabled or generative AI applications for production use.
• Experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or comparable languages.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, web applications, or distributed architectures.
• Experience integrating applications with AI/ML services, LLMs, enterprise data sources, or external APIs.
• Experience deploying, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining applications in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, operate, and maintain AI-enabled applications in secure cloud environments.
• Develop secure AI-enabled apps using LLMs, AI APIs, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Integrate AI services with enterprise apps, data sources, and workflow platforms.
• Develop services, APIs, UIs, data pipelines, and integration components for enterprise AI.
• Implement security controls including IAM, data protection, auditing, and monitoring.
• Develop and evaluate AI technologies including open-source and cloud-native options.
• Maintain observability, testing, release management, and incident response for AI apps.
• Troubleshoot complex modern software, data, and AI service issues.
