Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Cyber Operations Engineer to design and operate agentic cybersecurity solutions at enterprise scale. You will work across cyber, platform, and engineering teams to translate complex needs into observable, secure automations using LLM platforms and agent frameworks.

You will build production-grade workflows, evaluate models and prompts, and ensure governance, security, and telemetry as part of an evolving operating model for AI-enabled defense.

Qualifications

• Experience in security operations and incident response.
• Ability to design agentic workflows and orchestration.
• Strong communication with stakeholders across teams.
• Experience with APIs, enterprise data, and workflow systems.
• Knowledge of secure design, testing, and release practices.

Responsibilities

• Leads or responds to complex cyber incidents using standard methodology.
• Creates detections and alerts for ongoing threat prevention.
• Applies secure software practices across delivery lifecycle.
• Designs automation and orchestration for security events.
• Manages vulnerability programs and proactive defenses.
• Plans team activities to improve detection and prevention controls.
• Defines evaluation plans for quality, safety, and regression checks.
• Collaborates with architecture, security, and platform teams.
