Job summary

UDR, Inc. is seeking an After Hours Maintenance Service Tech to support residents across multiple communities.

This fully remote role handles after-hours emergency maintenance calls, diagnosing issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliances, and coordinating with on-site teams and vendors. The position emphasizes excellent customer service, clear communication, and precise logging of service requests and billable time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years in building/mechanical maintenance.
• 2 years of customer service experience.
• On-site property management experience a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident emergency maintenance calls.
• Follow flow charts to determine emergencies.
• Direct residents on self-service resolutions when possible.
• Identify and engage vendors to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with on-site teams and vendors for deployment.
• Track billable time and submit service requests.
• Schedule PM tasks and create related PO’s.
• Audit service requests and invoices.
• Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers.
