Job summary

SEO North Carolina is seeking an Advisory Instructor to deliver a rigorous college-prep curriculum to 9th–11th graders entirely online. In this remote role, you will teach ~2 periods per advisory, follow provided lesson plans, and support Scholars' journeys to college through a student-centered coaching approach.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, teaching certification or relevant experience, and comfort with Brightspace, Nearpod, GSuite, and Zoom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a content-related field required.
• Teaching certification or K-12 classroom experience preferred.
• Comfort with learning management systems and educational tech.
• Student-centered pedagogy and high school experience required.
• Ability to engage high school Scholars online.
• Interest in analyzing societal issues at a high school level.
• Secondary Ed degree and UDL knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach ~2 advisory periods and manage assigned classes.
• Follow lesson plans to meet objectives and engage students.
• Utilize Brightspace, Nearpod, Google Suite, and Zoom for instruction.
• Provide tutoring and homework support during open-door sessions.
• Collaborate with SEO staff and attend scheduled trainings.
• Receive coaching feedback and implement recommendations.
