Job summary

SEO Scholars North Carolina is seeking an Advisory Instructor for 9th–11th grade to deliver a rigorous college-prep curriculum online.

Teach ~2 periods of Advisory, utilize Brightspace, Nearpod, GSuit applications, and Zoom, and provide tutoring and academic support. The role is remote with select Saturdays 8:45–2:15, up to 13 hours per week.

Bachelor's degree and teaching certification are required; compensation is $40/hour with the SEO Scholars program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a content-related field.
• Teaching certification or K-12 teaching experience.
• Comfort with technology-driven learning platforms.
• Strong student-centered teaching approach.
• Experience teaching high school students.
• Expertise in advanced ELA or Humanities.

Responsibilities

• Instruction & facilitation of ~2 Advisory periods per day.
• Navigate Instructional Technologies (Brightspace, Nearpod, Google Suite, Zoom).
• Prepare and adjust lesson materials to meet student needs.
• Provide tutoring and academic support sessions.
• Foster an engaging classroom culture and collaboration.
• Attend scheduled meetings and respond to communications promptly.
• Engage with coaching and feedback from instructional leaders.
