Job summary

Caring for Kids, Inc. is seeking a full-time social worker to join the Wendy's Wonderful Kids team.

The role focuses on recruiting and supporting youth in foster care and adoption, serving youth across Ohio counties and aiming to place older or hard-to-place youth with adoptive families. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher, relevant child welfare experience, Ohio licensure preferred, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Experience in child welfare, foster care or adoption is required; 3+ years preferred.
• Ohio licensure preferred (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC or equivalent).
• Adoption assessor training preferred.
• Valid driver's license, car insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Thorough case record review.
• Meet with the youth monthly to develop trust and rapport.
• Build a support network by meeting with significant adults and past connections.
• Identify interested individuals and permanency connections.
• Customize recruitment activities.
• Assess readiness for adoption and preparation needs.
• Prepare youth for placement and family education.
• Plan post-placement services and support.
• Attend agency meetings and Dave Thomas Foundation events.
