Job summary

Lifeway Christian Resources is seeking an Acquisitions Editor to identify, pursue, and develop biblically faithful resources for the Church. You will cultivate relationships with authors and literary agents, evaluate proposals for theological integrity and market fit, and shepherd projects from concept through completion.

This hybrid role, located near Brentwood, TN, offers relocation support and remote-eligible arrangements.

Qualifications

• 1+ years editorial and publishing experience.
• Ability to cultivate relationships with authors and agents.
• Knowledge of biblical scholarship and manuscript evaluation.
• Demonstrates editing proficiency and CMOS standards.
• Knowledge of licensing and rights administration.
• Commitment to theological accuracy and Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue authors and proposals aligned with Lifeway's publishing vision.
• Review proposals for theological integrity, market viability, and fit within the product line.
• Negotiate contract terms with authors and agents.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Production to shepherd titles through development and production.
• Ensure published content reflects Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
