Job summary

Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is hiring an Accounts Payable Accountant. The role is in the Finance department and is responsible for processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments in line with the State of Georgia.

The position reports to the Payables Manager and supports travel, purchasing card processing, and 1099 reporting. Experience with Concur and GA@WORK is preferred; strong MS Office 365 skills required. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Accounting/Finance is required.
• One year of work experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Preference for experience with Georgia's TeamWorks and GA@WORK; proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, receiving reports, and related documents into the Accounts Payable module; prepare invoices for payment per state policies.
• Audit vendor invoices, utility bills, travel reimbursements, contracts, and payment requests for accuracy and GL coding; work with budget to clear expenses.
• Process travel expenses in Concur; assist staff with Concur questions; provide pending AirPlus fees monthly.
• Process purchasing card payments monthly coordinating with budget and purchasing.
• Assist with 1099 reporting for IRS on a quarterly basis.
• Maintain accounts payable files and respond to inquiries by phone, email, or in person.
• Prepare reconciliations for AP accounts and other accounting reporting.
• Communicate issues to the manager in a timely manner.
