Job summary

Strategic Education, Inc. seeks a part-time Assistant Faculty to support online undergraduate Accounting courses. The role emphasizes student engagement, grading support, and tutoring under the guidance of lead instructors.

Required: master's degree in accounting (or MBA with accounting coursework), CPA preferred, and teaching experience. Remote, 25 hours/week, fall quarter starting October 5th, with benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution required OR MBA with Accounting concentration or with coursework in Intermediate I and II from a regionally accredited institution required
• CPA license preferred (active or inactive)
• Previous teaching experience required
• Online teaching experience preferred
• 5 years of professional experience in accounting preferred

Responsibilities

• Analyze student activity within discussions and assessments and respond appropriately based upon training and input from the lead instructor.
• Assist in managing student communications.
• Escalate unique issues to the lead instructor.
• Assist with grading and providing feedback.
• Monitor students’ engagement levels and provide recommendations on the best approach on how to increase engagement.
• Assist the lead instructor as needed or directed, providing tutoring, live sessions, or other student support.
• Assist the lead instructor as needed or directed with student outreach.
• Assist the lead instructor as needed in developing supplemental support documents, videos, job aids.
