Job summary

Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) seeks an Accounting Supervisor 1 to manage financial operations, analyze funding for manual invoices and inter-agency transfers, and improve workflows to ensure timely reconciliations.

You will oversee accounting staff, ensure payments and reports are completed on schedule, and collaborate with other agencies to maintain system integrity and accurate financial data.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and one year experience at the Accountant 4 level or equivalent.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, review, and reconcile system payments to ensure timely disbursement of payments and recording of expenditures.
• Run Cognos and journal accounting downloads to summarize expenditure/revenue data elements.
• Provide supervision, training, and monitoring of accounting staff for accuracy of work.
• Collaborate with GAO and other agencies to fix processing errors and ensure timely payments.
• Analyze large data sets to reconcile processes and move aged invoices between budget years.
• Respond to health plan and provider inquiries and update health plans in AZ360.
• Monitor call center reports to identify training needs and track misdirected calls.
• Oversee sub funds reconciliations for DES/DD revenues and expenditures.
