Job summary

Zynx Health, part of Hearst Health, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the business-unit accounting lead and liaison with Hearst Health Group Accounting.

In this 100% remote role, you will oversee ASC 606 revenue recognition, capitalized software costs, tax compliance, and SOX controls, while partnering with Finance, Product, Engineering and Sales to drive process improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree a plus.
• Prior experience reviewing complex accounting work, financial schedules, and close processes.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial close, balance-sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience with ASC 606 and accounting for capitalized software development costs.
• Experience performing or reviewing SOX controls and supporting internal or external audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and ensure accurate reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Review and approve journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules; provide actionable feedback.
• Own completeness and accuracy of assigned balance-sheet accounts and reconciliations.
• Coordinate close deliverables and accounting-policy questions with Hearst Health Group Accounting.
• Lead ASC 606 accounting, including contract review and revenue schedules.
• Oversee capitalization of software development costs and coordination with Product/Engineering.
• Research and document accounting conclusions for new transactions and policy changes.
• Oversee sales/use tax processes and Avalara administration; monitor aging and collections.
• Perform and review SOX controls and assist audits.
• Maintain accounting calendars and support internal/external reviews.
