Job summary

Political Asylum Lawyers, a Houston-based immigration law firm, is seeking an Accounting & Finance Manager to oversee all financial operations, reporting, and control systems. This hands-on role supports leadership in budgeting, cash flow, pricing, and strategic planning to safeguard client matters and firm profitability.

The role requires strong accounting expertise, familiarity with trust accounting, and leadership of a finance team, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and scalable processes

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, A/R, A/P, payroll, and month-end close.
• Experience with trust/IOLTA accounting, billing systems, collections, and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations with staff and providers, document procedures for accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and key reports, validate calculations, and explain variances.
• Oversee billing, collections, A/R, A/P, payroll, trust accounting, and tax coordination, maintaining accurate records.
