Middle Seat is hiring an Accounting Associate to support day-to-day operations, including payroll, A/R, A/P, and GL tasks. This remote, full-time role reports to the Finance Director and may require occasional travel for events.

Ideal candidates have a strong accounting foundation, comfort with high volumes of transactions, and a track record of precision. The position includes comprehensive benefits and 100% premium coverage for health, dental, and vision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Associate’s degree in accounting with relevant experience considered.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Justworks, Bill.com, and Ramp preferred.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel required.
• Startup/growth environment experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts receivable and monitor payment status.
• Process accounts payable and reconcile vendor statements.
• Post payroll and allocate by class.
• Assist month-end close and maintain general ledger.
• Support budgeting and financial reporting.
• Communicate with Finance Director and resolve issues.
• Reconcile paid media balances and prepare refunds.
• Support ad hoc financial reporting and process improvements.
