Job summary

Central Carolina Technical College in Sumter, SC seeks an experienced educator to teach courses during the day, evening, weekends, on campus and online as needed. The role includes evaluating student progress, maintaining accurate records, and preparing lectures, tests, and assignments.

The incumbent will develop and implement long-range plans for program areas, oversee curriculum revision, and manage academic schedules while ensuring compliance with state and college policies and accreditation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Experience in higher education and curriculum development.
• Ability to hire, train, supervise, and evaluate faculty.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses day, evening, weekend, on campus and online when requested.
• Evaluate students' progress and maintain accurate administrative records.
• Develop and implement long-range operational and strategic plan for area(s) of responsibility; curriculum development/revision and course/program implementation and/or elimination.
• Develop, implement, manage and evaluate academic program(s) by developing an annual plan of action and using results to inform improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws as well as state, system, and college policies.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures to comply with such laws and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards related to area(s) of responsibility.
• Ensure selection of appropriate textbooks/course materials.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate full-time and adjunct faculty in area(s) of responsibility.
• Communicate personnel vacancies to the appropriate supervisor.
• Manage instructional management functions including classroom facilities, clinical/placement sites, and distance education delivery.
• Strategically develop academic schedule and assign faculty.
• Provide leadership and guidance in advisement for students by assigning student advisors and monitoring number of advisees.
• Work with students with academic concerns, and communicate student issues to appropriate supervisors and personnel.
