Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to work remotely with our national client base. You will learn the full process to administer, test, and report on 401(k) plans, progressing from document review to basic plan administration.

You will review client submissions, keep them updated, and explain year-end reporting requirements including IRS Form 5500. Strong Excel skills and retirement- plan knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing.
• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience preferred.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and 401(k) plan documents.
