Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn the full process of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans—from document review to year-end filings. You will work with clients nationwide, reviewing plan documents, performing testing, and preparing Form 5500 in a fully remote role with structured training.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing.
• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience (401(k) or IRA) preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation preferred.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business/finance or related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information for annual reporting.
• Review documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and emails to clients during plan year reporting.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and documents.
• Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply.
• Training on Retirement Plan Administrator concepts.
