Job summary

Woodard & Curran seeks a mid-level project engineer to support and manage remediation projects across New England. You will be a key contributor to an integrated, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality remediation and consulting services to industrial, commercial, and municipal clients.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years’ experience, strong technical background in remediation technologies, and the ability to lead teams and collaborate with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of professional experience with an environmental/engineering consulting firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree desirable.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) is strongly preferred.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and safe work practices mandatory.
• Experience with project scopes, cost estimates, and technical proposals; construction and remediation programs.
• Technical experience in site remediation design and implementation, including feasibility evaluations, remedy selection/optimization, and lifecycle management of remedial systems.
• Remedial project management experience (scope, schedule, budget, risk, resources).
• Experience managing remediation contractors and field construction activities.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, stormwater tools, and modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Conducting corrective measures/feasibility studies.
• Developing remedial designs including drawings, plans, estimates, and specs.
• Evaluating remediation construction bids.
• Estimating costs and managing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Designing in situ and ex situ soil, sediment, and groundwater remedies.
• Preparing technical reports compliant with regulations.
• Coordinating and managing subcontractors.
• Evaluating and mitigating vapor intrusion sites.
• Managing remedial construction activities.
• Managing and interpreting environmental data.
• Remediating and redeveloping Brownfields sites.
• Collaborating with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
