Job summary

King County Water and Land Resources Division -WA seeks a Remedial Actions Lead to guide remediation strategies at Cedar Hills Regional Landfill. This senior role directs engineering projects from design through commissioning, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

You will manage spills response, coordinate with agencies, and support CIP efforts while ensuring safety and environmental stewardship across King County communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical science, or related field.
• Progressive experience in environmental remediation.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and contractors.
• Knowledge of MTCA/CERCLA or similar programs.
• Experience planning environmental field investigations.
• Strong technical writing and regulatory submittals.
• Project management techniques and principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead remediation program development for spills/releases at the landfill.
• Provide technical oversight and manage remediation projects from discovery to cleanup.
• Represent the division with regulatory agencies on spill response.
• Prepare consultant RFPs and bid documents; assist in contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with Operations, regulatory teams, and construction for responses.
• Possess knowledge of Stormwater design per WA/King County manuals (preferred).
• Perform other engineering and environmental duties as assigned.
