Job summary

Everwood Treatment Co. in Spanish Fort, AL seeks a Reman laborer to build material from a manager list and affix labels to lumber packs. This full-time role offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will observe safety rules, stack and unload lumber, measure cutting lines, keep the reman area clean, track operations and inventory, and operate saws and kilns to dry lumber. No prior experience required; HS diploma preferred. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Job description

Everwood, is seeking a Reman laborer. This position will be responsible for building material from a list prepared by the plant manager to be shipped and affixing labels to packs of lumber. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.

• Observes all safety requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment.
• Stacks lumber or other wood products.
• Keeps reman area clean at all times, including staples, cross-outs, and any other damaged material.
• Load and unload lumber and timber from conveyors
• Measure and indicate cutting lines on lumber, timber, and finished goods.
• Maintain accurate record of job operations as well as up-to-date inventory.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste materials on completion of job operations.
• Sort and arrange lumber, timbers, and finished goods according to sizes and grades to allow for easy identification.
• Operate sawing equipment to make precise cuts.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as dry kilns in effectively drying lumber.

Education and/or Experience:

No prior experience or training. High School diploma preferred.
