48forty Solutions in Richmond, IL is seeking a Pallet Reman to rebuild pallets from recycled materials and repair pallets to service condition. This probationary role leads to potential transfer to a piece-rate path based on performance.

Pay is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour, with shifts Mon–Thu 2:00 PM–12:15 AM. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and a great team environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Craft apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize tools to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment per 48forty standards.
• Build the given number of pallets after training.
• Repair pallets as trained to meet production quotas.
• Stack pallets following inventory control instructions.
• Check loads to ensure they are secure.

Overview

As a Pallet Reman, you’ll get to build wooden pallets from recycled materials, deconstructed pallets and/or lumber. You may also repair pallets by taking damaged pallets sent from our customers and return them to service-ready condition, before consolidating and shipping them back to the customer. As sustainability is one of our organization’s top goals, this role is vital to our success!

Hourly Pay:

$19.00/hr. - $25.00/hr. (production-based position)

Shift(s):

Monday - Thursday 2:00 PM - 12:15 AM

Richmond, IL 60071

This role is a probationary role for which you will work 60-90 days and then have the opportunity to be considered for transfer to a piece rate role in which you could make $25-30/hr depending on your performance!

What You'll Do

• Utilize appropriate tools and methods to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition
• Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager
• Examine products after repairing to verify conformance to quality standards
• Must maintain a clean & safe working environment that meets 48forty’s standards
• Build the given number of pallets, once training is complete
• Repair the given number of pallets, once training is complete
• Expected to be able to work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas in the repair area, safely
• Stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions
• Check loads to make sure they are secure

What You'll Need

• High school degree or GED required
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred
• Requires quick hands, attention to detail, commitment to quality
• Observance of all safety rules and regulations
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardized requirements exist
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools
• Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing is strongly preferred
