Job summary

The Outreach Team is building a national pool of Lead Directors to run canvass campaigns across the United States. The role combines team leadership, field presence, and campaign strategy to meet high-impact goals.

Lead Directors recruit, train, and manage canvassers and Deputy Directors, set performance targets, and build scalable offices from the ground up while reporting to the Project Director. You will travel to sites, ensure safe, inclusive work environments, and coordinate administrative

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 15-30 canvassers, setting goals and holding staff accountable
• Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff; identify, promote, and train a leadership team
• Build a diverse team where staff feel respected, while fostering equity and justice; implement quality control measures to ensure integrity of the work
• Go in the field yourself several days per week to canvass, train staff, and help drive office goals
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
• Develop strategic plans to reach target voters/constituencies in assigned locations
• Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distributing materials
• Canvass a minimum of 2 days per week

Lead Director

We are building a Talent Pool of Lead Directors for upcoming campaigns across the country. These roles will vary by location and issue, but all will require a strong background in field leadership, staff management, and meeting high-impact goals.

Lead Directors will recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers. Additionally, the Lead Campaign Director will manage a team of one or more Deputy Directors, and will be responsible for building an office to scale from the ground up. The Lead Director position reports to the Project Director
