Job description

What this job involves:

As a Relocation Project Manager at JLL, you'll serve as the trusted orchestrator of workplace transitions, planning and executing relocation projects and furniture reconfigurations that impact groups of up to 1,000 people. You'll be the primary point of contact for move management and furniture project activities, transforming complex logistics into seamless experiences that meet exacting standards for budget, timeline, and quality. This role combines strategic planning with hands‑on execution as you manage office conversions, space modifications, and furniture installations while coordinating vendors, contractors, and cross‑functional teams. At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way—for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees—and in this position, you'll directly contribute to creating work environments that enable organizations to thrive. You'll work both independently and collaboratively, bringing industry best practices to every project while maintaining the meticulous attention to detail that protects our clients' operations during periods of change. From developing comprehensive project plans to conducting on‑site installations, you'll leverage technology, data management, and strong relationship‑building skills to deliver workplace solutions that optimize space utilization and support evolving business needs.

What your day‑to‑day will look like:

Develop comprehensive relocation project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with facility, project, and construction managers, establishing clear goals and adjusting as needed to achieve desired outcomes across projects involving up to 1,000 people. Oversee furniture reconfiguration projects from concept through completion, including workstation modifications, panel reconfigurations, office conversions from private to open workspace, and collaborative space buildouts that optimize functionality within budget constraints. Manage vendor relationships by preparing RFPs, evaluating proposals, and overseeing contractor performance for move labor, furniture installation teams, technology providers, and supporting services to ensure compliance with established quality standards. Serve as the single point of contact for all move management and furniture project activities, communicating proactively with clients, stakeholders, and executive leadership while adapting to each client's unique protocols and organizational culture. Maintain accurate data across CAFM systems and move management platforms, processing client requests efficiently, tracking furniture inventory with precise location and condition details, and ensuring all documentation supports due diligence requirements. Provide hands‑on on‑site presence during relocations and furniture installations to resolve issues in real time, conduct pre‑installation planning walks and post‑installation inspections, oversee installation teams, and manage punch list items through completion. Collaborate with design teams and space planners to translate furniture requirements into actionable project plans, reviewing specifications and finish schedules while balancing aesthetic preferences with budget realities and maximizing existing asset reuse. Coordinate scheduled activities with property management, facilities teams, and all parties involved in workspace modifications, ensuring proper sequencing of construction, furniture installation, technology deployment, and occupancy phases across multiple concurrent projects. Track project hours, forecast utilization, prepare accurate status reports, and complete thorough closeout documentation that includes furniture inventory reconciliation, as‑built records, and compliance verification for both internal and client requirements.

Required qualifications:

3-4 years of facility, project, or construction‑related experience in a Corporate Real Estate environment, with background in project management, construction management, architecture, furniture project management, or project strategy planning. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the complete Microsoft Office suite, with demonstrated ability to manage complex data and create detailed project documentation. Experience with CAD/CFAM technology featuring move management modules and client facilities management systems, with ability to maintain accurate occupancy and furniture inventory data. Proven ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, furniture plans, and specifications, applying furniture and space planning concepts to real‑world project execution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated capacity to interact effectively at all organizational levels, including executive stakeholders, while building trust and reducing client stress during workplace transitions. Exceptional organizational abilities with strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and proven capacity to identify and manage competing priorities while multitasking effectively across multiple furniture projects and relocations. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing projects both independently and as part of collaborative teams, including ability to provide constructive feedback and supervise additional staff when required.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience managing furniture reconfigurations, installations, and office conversions in corporate environments, with knowledge of furniture systems, manufacturers, and installation processes. Understanding of ergonomic standards and workplace design principles, with ability to coordinate furniture selection that meets functional requirements while optimizing space utilization. Familiarity with construction or commercial real estate industry practices, including vendor management, procurement processes, and contractor coordination. Self‑motivated approach with demonstrated ability to identify skill development opportunities and proactively seek training to strengthen professional capabilities. Professional networking capabilities and willingness to build personal and firm reputation through industry participation and ongoing relationship development. Problem‑solving mindset with proven ability to develop creative solutions for furniture and space challenges while maintaining quality standards and meeting budget constraints.
