Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System, Fayetteville, NC, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care under supervision. The role involves direct patient care, med administration, and care coordination in an outpatient clinic setting.

The LPN will collaborate with the team to implement patient care plans, maintain accurate records, and ensure a safe environment while addressing diverse patient needs within the medical regimen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current NC LPN license or Compact state licensure.
• No prior work experience required.
• Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessment of patient.
• Collaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of care.
• Follows patient’s plan of care while providing direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Adjusts care based on age-specific needs as directed by RN or physician.
• Maintains accurate and relevant records of patient care.
• Administers medications as ordered by physician.
• Maintains a safe environment.
• Responds to life-threatening situations appropriately.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities and monitors care quality.
• Establishes collaborative relationships with Health System staff.
• Supports patients' cultural and spiritual beliefs within medical limits.
• Completes accurate charging for patient services.
• Demonstrates responsibility for patient satisfaction and throughput.
• Other duties as assigned.
