Qualifications

• Education and Formal Training: High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Compact state licensure.
• Work Experience: None
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language; interpersonal skills; verbal and written communication; awareness of age-specific needs of patients.

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessment of patient.
• Collaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of care.
• Follows patient’s plan of care during direct nursing care.
• Maintains accurate and relevant records of patient care.
• Administers medication as ordered by physician.
• Facilitates a safe environment and responds to life-threatening situations when needed.
• Maintains competencies and participates in improvement activities.
• Supports patients' cultural and spiritual beliefs within medical guidelines.
