American Commercial Barge Line is seeking a Northern Reliability Leader to guide vessel engineering, maintenance strategy, and reliability initiatives in Paducah, KY. You will mentor engineers, shape asset-management programs, and drive improvements that boost fleet availability and regulatory compliance.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced marine environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in vessel maintenance, marine engineering, or reliability/related field.
• Experience leading maintenance, engineering, reliability, or operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (USCG, Subchapter M, OPA 90) and hazardous materials handling.
• Proficient with MS Office and maintenance-related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities and reliability strategy for vessel engineering and maintenance.
• Develop and execute reliability, maintenance, and asset management initiatives.
• Coach and develop vessel engineers and technical staff; manage work assignments.
• Establish maintenance standards, PM programs, inspections, and testing procedures.
• Improve fleet performance and optimize repair schedules with stakeholders.
• Oversee vendors and contractors for repairs and overhauls.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and performance reports; control expenditures.
• Investigate and implement solutions to recurring mechanical challenges.
• Ensure vessels meet regulatory requirements and safety standards.
