Job summary

The Illinois Tollway seeks a Relocation and Acquisition Specialist to lead relocation efforts for Tollway engineering projects. You will serve as the primary contact for families and businesses, presenting relocation options and coordinating needs in compliance with federal and state regulations.

You will analyze proposed relocations, determine fair market value, present offers, and collaborate with local agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Real Estate, or Urban planning (or equivalent).
• Five years of relevant real estate experience with residential and business transactions.
• Knowledge of the Uniform Relocation Act and related housing and civil rights acts.

Responsibilities

• Administer relocation activities to ensure timely completion.
• Enforce Uniform Relocation Act updates and related Fair Housing Act provisions.
• Present relocation facts clearly to impacted property owners.
• Assess and value compensation for affected parcels and tenants.
• Negotiate relocation agreements with displaced owners.
• Coordinate with local agencies and stakeholders.
• Respond to inquiries and compile related secured debt information.
