Job summary

The Illinois Tollway's Legal Department is seeking an Assistant Attorney General to provide timely, accurate legal advice to support the Authority's decisions and operations. The role works with the General Counsel and interacts with multiple departments, outside counsel, and public entities.

You will negotiate contracts, oversee property acquisitions, and collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel while upholding ethics and equal employment principles.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• College graduate with a strong academic record is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate and timely legal advice to support sound decisions and plans for the Authority.
• Negotiates and drafts contracts and agreements with vendors, contractors, engineers, municipalities and others in connection with Authority business and operations.
• Completes other assignments to promote the best interests of the Authority within prescribed legal guidelines.
• Carries out timely acquisition of property for various Authority Tollway projects.

In support of this vision, the Assistant Attorney General reports directly to the General Counsel. The Legal Department's mission is to provide a full range of legal services to the Authority. To achieve this end, the incumbent will interact with various departments within the Authority, outside legal counsel, judicial, state, county, local officials, and the general public.

Essential Job Functions
