Job summary

Covetrus is seeking a Relief Pharmacist to join our mail order pharmacy team in a fast-paced environment. The role involves dispensing pet prescriptions, counseling owners, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy policy while maintaining drug safety and accuracy.

This per diem, hourly position supports the veterinary care network and patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will hold a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS in Pharmacy and be licensed in the relevant states, with 6–12 months of experience and

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or BS Degree in Pharmacy
• Must have 6 - 12 months of experience
• Licensed Registered Pharmacist in good standing in the state of operation and other states as required
• Experience with veterinary products preferred

Responsibilities

• Reviews and interprets vets orders for appropriateness to ensure correct dosing and avoid interactions.
• Dispenses prescriptions to pets and counsels pet owners about medications.
• Maintains controls for audited drugs and prepares controlled drug requests.
• Participates in in-service education and clinical programs.
• Verifies work by support staff and ensures drug data accuracy.
