Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Relief Veterinarian to provide preventive care, diagnosis and treatment for pets in Kildeer, IL. The candidate will ensure safety and cleanliness of the hospital and maintain complete medical records while educating clients on preventive care and services.

The role requires a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD), state licensure, and a DEA license, with the ability to perform common surgeries and work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.
• License in good standing with the applicable state veterinary board.
• License with the Drug Enforcement Agency required.
• Proven ability to perform all basic surgeries, including use of all standard medical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative care, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of Pets.
• Ensure the Safety of Pets, clients and associates by utilizing safe restraining techniques and maintaining clean, sterile treatment areas.
• Obtain relevant information and history from clients, and maintain proper and complete medical records.
• Educate clients about preventative care and hospital services.
• Communicate diagnosis and treatment plan to veterinary team and client.
