Job summary

Pine Bluff Animal Hospital is seeking a relief/per diem veterinarian (W-2) to provide coverage across Pine Bluff Animal Hospital, Skinner Animal Clinic, Lakewood Animal Hospital, and Dwight Veterinary Clinic in Central Illinois.

Schedule offers 3–4 days per week or about 12 shifts monthly, with hours from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM on weekdays and 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturdays; compensation is $1,200 per shift plus mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of clinical experience in companion animal practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enjoy collaborating with different teams and multiple hospital environments.
• Flexible and capable of delivering high-quality medicine across clinics.

Responsibilities

• Provide relief/per diem veterinary coverage across Pine Bluff Animal Hospital, Skinner Animal Clinic, Lakewood Animal Hospital, and Dwight Veterinary Clinic.
• Manage shifts as scheduled (3–4 days per week or ~12 shifts per month) with standard business hours and paid lunch.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• 3+ years of clinical experience
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited college
• Active Illinois veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain)
• Enjoy collaborating with different teams, value flexibility, and are passionate about providing outstanding patient care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to multiple hospital environments while delivering consistent, high-quality medicine
