Job summary

The Laurels in Carlisle is seeking Relief Support Workers to care for older adults and those with dementia in a residential setting. You will support personal care, daily tasks, nutrition, and wellbeing while promoting independence and dignity.

Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, suit those with personal commitments. A minimum of twelve months' experience with dementia is required.

Relief Support Worker Duties:

• Providing support on an emotional and practical level with personal care needs, household tasks, medication, diet and nutrition and healthy living
• Encouraging residents to engage with social activities both within and outside the home
• Develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users
• Carry out general administrative duties and housing management tasks

This is a Relief Support Worker position which enables you to pick up shifts at a time that suits you, which is ideal for fitting around personal commitments, study or caring responsibilities. The flexible shift pattern includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

Due to the range and abilities of our residents you will need a minimum of twelve months prior experience of supporting older adults with dementia. Our Carlisle service is on a main public transport route and is easily accessible.
